
Men's Squash Team Banquet Presents Awards, Names Captains, Announces Class of 2020

Providence, RI - The Brown men's squash team wrapped up its season with the Squash Team Banquet at the Faculty Club in Providence, with the announcement of team awards and naming captains, naming captains for the 2016-17 season and announcing the incoming Class of 2020.
There were several awards received, including the Best Record at the Team Nationals which went to Freshman Ben Caraballo who went 2-1 at this year's team championships at #9, winning his matches against Franklin and Marshall and Middlebury.
The Most Improved Player award went to freshman Ben Caraballo and Junior Alexander Demeulenaere.
The Quint Stevenson Memorial award was presented to both Freshman Philip Demeulenaere and Sophomore Thomas Blecher.
The team and coaches recognized five players who received the CSA Scholar Athlete Awards which are awarded to those athletes that have played in 50% or more of the matches and have a 3.5 GPA or better. They were Alexander Demeulenaere '17, Co- Captain Oliver Booth '16 Co-Captain Jack Blasberg'16, Foster Hoff '16 and Alexander Baldock '17.
The team nominated Co - captains for the 2016-17 season - Alexander Demeulenaere '17, Alexander Baldock '17.
The Brown team thanked the seniors Foster Hoff, Ross Freiman-Mendel and Co-Captains Jack Blasberg and Oliver Booth for their leadership and efforts on and off the squash courts over their four years at Brown.
Coach Stuart leGassick's squad looks forward to the arrival of the freshmen in the fall: Harrison Boyer, St. Ann's, Nicholas Pitaro, The Regis School, and Blake Gilbert-Bono Belmont Hill.
