
Men's Tennis Defeats Yale, 4-3, in Season Finale

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's tennis team defeated Yale, 4-3, on Saturday in the squad's last match of the 2015-16 season. The Bears won the doubles point and then split singles play (3-3) with the Bulldogs to win the match.
Brown won the doubles points with wins in the first and third spots. Junior Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) and sophomore Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) won first doubles, 6-3, while freshman Mladen Mitak (Zagreb, Croatia) and sophomore Aaron Sandberg (Hudson, Ohio) clinched the point for the Bears with a 7-5 win in third doubles.
To start singles play, Tarwid won his first singles match, 6-1, 6-4. Sophomore Jack Haworth (Corby, England) next won fourth singles, 6-3, 6-2. To close out the wins for Bears, Sandberg was victorious in fifth singles, 6-3, 7-6.
