
Men's Tennis Downed by No. 38 Old Dominion, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's tennis team was defeated by No. 38 Old Dominion, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore Peter Tarwid (Lake Forest, Ill.) had strong victory (6-4, 6-4) in second singles to highlight the Bears' finishes.
In doubles play, No. 80, Aziz Kijametovic, Jacob Nicolussi outlasted Tarwid and freshman Mladen Mitak (Zagreb, Croatia) in the first spot, 6-2. The Monarchs closed out the doubles point with a win in third doubles, edging Gregory Garcia (Poway, Calif.) and Aaron Sandberg (Hudson, Ohio), 6-4.
Garcia had a strong showing in first singles, winning the first set but losing in the second and tiebreaker (4-6, 6-4, 6-3). Jacob Nicolussi retired in sixth singles to give sophomore Anthony Arocho (Norridge, Ill.) a win, giving the Bears two singles victories with Tarwid's 6-4, 6-4 win the second spot.
The Bears will next travel to Louisiana and compete against the Louisiana at Lafayette on Monday, March 28 (3:00 p.m.), LSU on Tuesday, March 29 (3:00 p.m.) and Tulane on Wednesday, March 30 (3:00 p.m.).
