Men's Swimming & Diving Remains in Third at Second Day of Big Al Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Brown men's swimming & diving team remains in third place with 454.5 points in day two of the three-day Big Al Invite at DeNunzio Pool. Princeton is in the top spot with 774.5 points and Pittsburgh sits in second with 560 points.
A team of junior Nicholas Johnston (Pleasanton, Calif.), junior Connor Lohman (Prospect, Ky.), junior Will LaCosta (Gladstone, N.J.) and freshman William Steele (Katy, Texas) finished fifth in the 200-yard medley relay to start off the finals for the second day.
Freshman Matt Orringer (Ann Arbor, Mich.) finished fourth in the 400-yard IM (3:55.93).
William Steele posted a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 48.55. Sophomore Riley Springman (Orlando, Fla.) and junior Daniel Klotz (Berlin, Conn.) finished seventh and eighth with times of 49.27 and 49.30, respectively.
A fifth-place finish was turned in by sophomore Willy Lee (Palo Alto, Calif.) in the 100-yard backstroke (49.47). Freshman Nicholas Brown (Sudbury, Mass.) and Johnston touched the wall in seventh (50.07) and eighth (50.30).
Lohman (55.66), freshman Waylon Jin (Berwyn, Pa.) (55.80) and freshman Sean Han (Highstown, N.J.) (56.38) finished 6-8 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
In diving, junior Jonathon Schlafer (Uniontown, Ohio) placed sixth in the three-meter with a score of 304.75
The Bears return to the pool tomorrow to close out the Big Al Invite.
