ALBANY, N.Y. – Senior Nick Lappin (Geneva, Ill.) of the Brown men's hockey team was named the ECAC Hockey Player of the Week, announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
Lappin paced Brown to a three-point road weekend with four points in league play, including three goals, in consecutive two-point games. He first scored the game-tying goal against Union with 1:38 left in regulation to force overtime before the eventual victory. He also scored back-to-back third period goals in a hard fought tie at Rensselaer.
Lappin ranks fifth nationally in goals per game (0.80) and has recorded seven points on four goals and three assists in just five contests for the Bears. He is the first member of the Bears to earn a conference award this season.
Brown will play host to Colgate (11/20) and No. 18 Cornell (11/21) this weekend at Meehan Auditorium. Tickets for all Brown men's hockey games can be purchased online, calling the Brown Athletics Ticket Office at (401) 863-2773, or walking up to the Box Office located in the Pizzitola Sports Center, open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
