PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will take a break from ECAC play with a pair of non-conference games this weekend as the Bears host UConn on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 4 p.m. before visiting Holy Cross the following day at 1 p.m. Links to live video and live stats will be available at www.brownbears.com.

Last Time Out: Brown wrapped up a four-game road swing last weekend, falling at No. 6 Colgate, 4-3, in overtime before dropping a 4-0 decision to Cornell on Saturday. In the game against Colgate, Brown held a 3-1 lead late in the second period, but the Raiders answered with a pair of goals to send the game to overtime, when Joe Wilson scored the game winner for the comeback victory. Matt Lorito notched a pair of goals, while Joey de Concilys had the other tally for the Bears. Mark Naclerio also had multiple points with two assists. In the next game, Cornell recorded three goals in the first period and Hayden Stewart had 26 saves to secure the shutout.
Scouting UConn: Connecticut enters Saturday's game at 3-6-4 overall and 2-3-1 in its first season as a member of Hockey East. UConn has played three games against teams from the ECAC so far this season, beating Quinnipiac, 4-1, falling to Yale, 2-1, and drawing even with RPI, 1-1. The Huskies split last weekend with a win over Vermont and a loss to Boston University. Shawn Pauly leads the team with eight points and six assists, while Trevor Gerling has four goals. Rob Nichols has been the primary goaltender, playing in 13 games for a 2.10 GAA and a .932 save percentage. UConn is averaging 1.69 goals per game.
Brown vs. UConn All-Time: Brown and UConn have met eight times, with the Bears leading the all-time series, 6-1-1, winning four of the five games, including the first four in a row, with a shutout over the Huskies. In the last game, played on November 28, 2009, an 8-1 Brown victory gave head coach Brendan Whittet '94 his first career coaching win. All eight of the games between the two schools have been played at Brown. On January 16, 2004, UConn scored its first goal ever against Brown, earning a 1-1 tie with the Bears. Prior to the 1-1 tie, Brown had outscored the Huskies 26-0 in the previous four games. On January 10, 2006, the Bears earned their fifth win, but it was the first victory not decided with a shutout. UConn picked up its first-ever win over Brown with a 4-1 decision in 2008-09.
Scouting Holy Cross: Holy Cross heads into Sunday's game at 4-5-4 overall and 4-1-1 in Atlantic Hockey, and most recently picked up a midweek victory over Bentley, 4-2, on Tuesday. Matt Vital and Mike Barrett have seven points apiece, while Scott Pooley paces the team with four goals. Senior Matt Ginn leads all active goaltenders in career saves (3,084) and minutes (6,679). He has a 2.33 GAA and a .925 save percentage this season.
Brown vs. Holy Cross All-Time: Brown and Holy Cross have met seven times, with the Bears leading the all-time series, 5-2-0. The two teams last met in the 2012-13 season, when the Bears earned a 3-2 victory at home. Matt Lorito and Mark Naclerio both scored in the contest. Holy Cross picked up its first win in the series, 3-1, the following year. The two teams also met recently in 2003, a 4-2 Bears' win. Prior to 2003, the two teams had not faced each other since 1950.
Lorito Leads the Way: Matt Lorito leads the Bears with four goals this season after he scored a pair of tallies at No. 6 Colgate last weekend. He now ranks 20th among active NCAA Division I players and first among Ivy League players with 87 career points.
Facing Off: Mark Naclerio leads the Bears with 79 face-off wins, while rookie Sam Lafferty paces the team in percentage (37-35, .514).
Brown/Dunkin' Donuts Center to Host 2015 NCAA Regional: Brown will host the 2015 NCAA Men's Hockey East Regional at Providence's Dunkin' Donuts Center, marking the 10th NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament competition in Providence and second since 2013, which was also hosted by Brown. The Dunkin' Donuts Center, formerly known as the Providence Civic Center, has hosted the Frozen Four six times, and this will be the fourth time it has hosted regional competition. Game dates are Saturday, March 29th and Sunday, March 30th. Game times will be announced at a later date. Tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster and at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Box Office. The regional winner earns a trip to the 2015 Frozen Four at the TD Garden in Boston, MA (April 9 & 11).
