Brynn Smith Finishes 10th in Hammer Throw Preliminaries at NCAA Championship

Des Moines, IA- Brown Track & Field senior Brynn Smith missed advancing into the finals by one place (top nine advance) as she earned 10th in the preliminaries by tossing a 202-8 (61.79m) at the NCAA Division I Championships hosted at Drake Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Smith, a team captain, was presented Brown's Marjorie Brown Smith Award, which is presented to the outstanding female varsity athlete of the year. Smith was a three-time NCAA qualifier competing in both the hammer and shot put, and was twice named the Outstanding Performer at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships.
