Brown Men's Crew Competes at the Head of the Charles
10/24/2010 12:00:00 AM | Men's Crew
Boston, Mass. – The Brown men's crew took on one of the largest fields in the country this past weekend and put in some great boat performances while holding its annual Pull for a Cure event which raised over $40,000 for breast cancer research.
The varsity eight put in a strong race and held off the German under-23 crew, which started behind them. Brown had a good performance, showing speed down the course. This year's varsity squad includes many athletes from last year's junior varsity crew, which gained valuable experience this weekend.
The second varsity finished within the top-20, high enough to keep their entry for next year. The club eight and the championship four had respectable performances and gained invaluable experience for the freshmen, which are proving to be a competitive group.
Full results for the event can be accessed at this website.
