Why Brown? What excites me about Brown is the flexibility to focus on coursework interesting to each of us as individuals and to collaborate with professors and peers on meaningful projects. Growing up outside the nation’s capital provided access to people from all over the world to be my world, and the intellectual curiosity and growth mindset at Brown mirrors that of Washington, D.C. My freshman year was a remarkable experience, studying Political Science and English, while continuing my internship at PILPG advocating for the protection of human rights and ensuring international law is upheld during peace negotiations. I intend to double major, earn a law degree, teach at a university, and run for office to make changes in policies from within the establishment. This past summer, I interned for a change agent championing advocacy across the nation and lobbying on the Hill. My experiences have shown me we are as motivated as those we choose to surround ourselves with in the things we love. Volleyball has played a significant role in my development as an athlete and in my depth of character, and my talented teammates quickly became my family – all of whom I admire, respect, and love.
