A former assistant coach at Wagner College and standout student-athlete at Hartwick College, Allison Kosich enters her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Brown University women’s water polo program and as the operations assistant/position coach for the men’s side in 2018-19.
Â
In 2018, Kosich helped mentor four All-NWPC performers in Travis Bouscaren ’19, Armen Deirmenjian ’20, Hudson Rawlings ’20, and Riad Hallal ’21. The Bears concluded the year with an 18-14 record, marking their ninth straight season with 18 or more wins.
Â
Kosich helped guide the Bears to their eighth straight 20-win season in 2017 with a 21-12 overall record. She coached a trio of All-NWPC performers in Tommy Bush ’18, Rico Burke ’18, and Tyler Kirchberg ’18 as well as an ACWPC All-America selection in Kirchberg.
Â
During the 2016 season, she aided the Bears to their third straight regular season title, claiming the inaugural NWPC regular season championship. She coached NWPC Player of the Year Luke Weiser ’17 and a pair of ACWPC All-Americans in Yahel Murvitz-Lahav ’17 and Jake Wyatt ’17.
Â
In 2015, she helped the men’s team win a second consecutive CWPA Northern Division title and notch an undefeated 12-0 mark in CWPA Northern Division play during the regular season. Will Klein ’16 earned CWPA Northern Division Player of the Year accolades while he and Matty Gallas ’16 garnered All-American status.
Â
Kosich served as an assistant coach for the women’s water polo team at Wagner from 2013-15, helping lead the Seahawks to back-to-back Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference championships and consecutive appearances in the NCAA Championship in 2014 and 2015.
Â
At Wagner, Kosich acted in a multi-faceted role managing recruiting, financial, practice scheduling, operational, statistical, and social media duties. She aided the Seahawks in reaching the No. 14 spot in the CWPA poll in 2015 – the highest ranking in school history – and in earning the nation’s top team GPA in 2014.
Â
Kosich played her final two seasons of collegiate water polo at Hartwick where she captained the team as a senior. She also spent time at the University of the Pacific (2008-10) and San Joaquin Delta College (2010-11).
