In 2008-09: Powlen's track season was one ofgreat improvement and success ... He set a personal record at theIndoor Ivy League Championship of 16.57 meters(54’4.5”), placing fourth ... In the 2009 outdoorseason Powlen steadily improved up until the Ivy LeagueChampionship meet where he exploded for a first place finished inDiscus, and a close second finish in shot put, setting personalrecords in both events (17.42m / 57’2” shotput, 55.86m/ 183’3” discus.) ... He continued to performconsistently at a high level with a fourth place finish at NCAAEast regionals and a 18th place finish at Nationals ... Powlen wasalso seleced as an USATFCCCA Academic All-American.

In 2007-08: Although trainingwas going well, Bryan had a very slow start and struggledthroughout the indoor season ... All the work paid off in theoutdoor season by hitting a Personal Best in the Brown Invitationaland eventually continuing onto the Outdoor Heptagonal Championshipswhere he placed 3rd in the shot put and 5th in the discus. Hiscurrent personal bests are 16.25 (53'3.75") in shot put and 49.78(163'4") in discus.

In 2006-2007: Had a great start to the seasonthrowing 15.56m in shot...He has now posted personal records of16.05m (52' 8") in shot put and 47.43m (155' 7") in discus.
