Hannah Chappell-Dick joined the Brown cross country/track & field coaching staff in June 2021 and was promoted to the position of Head Women's Cross Country Coach / Assistant Track & Field Coach in February 2023.
Before coming to College Hill, Chappell-Dick was a graduate assistant cross country and track & field coach at the University of Florida. She spent two years with the Gators (2019-21) where she assisted in coaching four NCAA D1 All-Americans while also supervising practices and training in addition to receiving her MBA.
Before Florida, Chappell-Dick was a volunteer assistant coach at Georgia Tech from 2018-19. There, Chappell-Dick helped the women's program earn its first NCAA Championship appearance since 2001. On the men's side, she assisted coaching an NCAA All-American and USA Semifinalist.
In 2017, Chappell-Dick served as the interim head men’s and women’s cross country coach at her alma mater, Eastern Mennonite University. As a student-athlete at EMU, Chappell-Dick was one of 30 NCAA Women of the Year Honorees and a five-time NCAA DIII All-American.
Chappell-Dick graduated as EMU's school record holder in the 400, 800,1500, 4×100, 4×400, DMR, and held the ODAC record in the mile. She was a three-time Regional Athlete of the Year, a six-time ODAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and a two-time EMU Athlete of the Year. She also served as a team captain and was chair of SAAC. She graduated in 2016 with a degree in biology while earning Cords of Distinction (top-10 in class).
