Hunter Williams spent two seasons as the Bears Director of Football Operations from 2022-2023. Before Brown, Williams spent four seasons as the Director of Football Operations/Video Coordinator at Hampton University.
At Hampton, Williams oversaw the day-to-day operations of the football program, including managing the operating budget, and coaching the specialists position group in 2021, a group that ranked third in FCS in field goal percentage. Additionally, he coordinated all travel arrangements for the football program, was responsible for ordering all equipment and apparel, managing inventory and distribution systems, supervising on-campus recruiting visit operations and negotiated opponent game contracts.
He was also the program’s NFL Pro Liaison, in addition to serving as the liaison to many other areas of the athletics department and the university, including sports medicine, compliance, equipment, admissions and marketing among others.
Prior to Hampton, Williams served as a Defensive Quality Control Coordinator at East Carolina University during the 2017 season, preparing weekly scouting reports and running the offense and special teams scout teams for the Pirates’ FBS football team.
From 2014-16, Williams was a Student Assistant Coach at ECU, working with the linebackers (2015-16) and secondary (2014).
Williams graduated from East Carolina in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, management. He went on to earn his master's in sports management from ECU in 2019.
