Shane Demers spent one season with the Brown coaching staff for the 2024 season. Demers came to College Hill following a four-year career as a pitcher and first baseman at Gordon College.

Demers capped a strong senior season in 2023 by earning First Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honors and second team all-region honors after batting .336, and leading the Fighting Scots in hits, doubles, and RBIs. He previously earned Second Team All-CCC honors in 2022. Overall, Demers graduated from Gordon as the program’s career leader for runs scored (99), and holds single season records for at bats (149 in 2023), OPS (1.334 in 2021), and slugging percentage (.821 in 2021).

For his work in the classroom, he earned CSC Academic All-District honors in 2023 and was a three-time President’s List honoree.

Demers gained coaching experience as an assistant for Bethel (Conn.) American Legion Post 100 during the summer of 2020.

Off the field, Demers worked as a data operations intern for TrackMan Baseball, collecting data from MILB, college and summer league games and utilizing the data to provide feedback to players. He previously interned with the New Britain Bees of the Futures League during the summer of 2022, assisting in gameday operations, promotions, ticket sales and fan engagement.

Demers graduated from Gordon in May 2023 with bachelor’s degrees in business administration, and recreation, sports and wellness.
