Pete Kelich is in his first season as the Bears' Director of Pitching Development in 2026. Kelich previously served as a pitching coach at Rhode Island College from 2022-2023Â under current Brown Head Coaching Chair Frank Holbrook.
As a collegiate player, Kelich remains one of the top pitchers in program history at Bryant, where he compiled 30 career wins, which still ranks second all-time, and remains the program’s all-time leader with 273 career strikeouts. He also sits third all-time with 335.2 innings pitched from 2010-2013. He was a two-time First Team All-Northeast Conference selection in 2012 and 2013, a two-time Rawlings All-Region honoree and was named the 2012 NEC Pitcher of the Year.

Kelich was named the NECBL’s Reliever of the Year while playing for the Newport Gulls in 2012 and was honored as part of the Gull’s Hall of Fame Class of 2024. He was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 38th round of the 2013 MLB Draft and in his rookie season, Kelich was named the Arizona League Pitcher of the Year after compiling a 7-1 record with a 1.40 ERA, and 69 strikeouts over 58.0 innings. In total, he spent three years in the Padres organization.
Kelich graduated from Bryant in 2013 with a degree in marketing.
