Wertheim Named First Team All-Ivy as Four Bears Garner Conference Recognition

PRINCETON, N.J. - Marcus Wertheim of the Brown men's lacrosse team was named First Team All-Ivy as four Bears garnered conference recognition, the Ivy League announced on Thursday afternoon.
This is the fourth consecutive season the Bears have placed a player on the First Team, Wertheim joins teammate Charlie Cave as the two players to be named First Team All-Ivy under Rothman Head Coaching Chair for Men's Lacrosse Jon Torpey.
Trey Taylor and Henry Brayer earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy while Ben Scandone rounded out the Bears' All-Ivy performers with an Academic All-Ivy nod.
Wertheim collects First Team All-Ivy after leading the Bears in assists (19) and points (46). The senior recorded at least one point in all 13 games this season and recorded multiple points in 12 games. Wertheim recorded a career-high eight points and his 100th career point against Princeton (Apr. 28). The St. James, N.Y. native was selected 26th overall by the California Redwoods in the 2026 PLL College Draft. As a senior, Wertheim recorded career-highs in goals, assists, points, appearances, and shots on goal.
Taylor picks up his first-career All-Ivy honor after starting all 13 games as a senior. Taylor notched career-highs in ground balls (26) and caused turnovers (11). The Tampa, Fla. native collected multiple ground balls in eight games while grabbing six against Dartmouth (Apr. 11), he also caused multiple turnovers in three separate games this season.
Brayer was named Honorable Mention All-Ivy after securing a .566 face-off percentage, the junior had 11 games with double-digit face-off wins. Brayer's 24 face-off wins and 18 ground balls against Dartmouth are both tied for the second-most in a single game nationally and the most by an Ivy Leaguer this season. Brayer finished the regular season second in the Ivy League in ground balls per game (6.46), the Piedmont, Calif. native finished the season with 84 ground balls.
Scandone was named Academic All-Ivy after matching a career-high in goals (9) and surpassing a career-high in assists (18). The Allentown, Pa. native appeared in all 13 games as a senior while making 12 starts. Scandone will graduate in May with a degree in Applied Mathematics.
