PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown sailing teams competed in four events across last weekend, highlighted by both teams finishing second in their respective New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) Fleet Race Championships.
The women's team earned a second place finish at the NEISA Women's Fleet Race Championship for the Jerry Reed Trophy last weekend at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. The Bears earned one of the two automatic qualifying berths to the College Sailing Women's Fleet Race National Championship hosted by the University of South Florida from May 15-18. Katharine Doble '26 and Reese Corckran '28 finished second in the A-Division, just one point out of first place in the 15-team championship. The open team also competed at the Boston Dinghy Cup at MIT on Saturday, finishing third of 17 teams in the three-division event. Noah Stapleton '29 and Marin Soderberg '28 led the Bears winning the A-Division, with seven top three finishes in 10 races. A group also competed in the George Morris Trophy at Boston University.
