PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Â Two members of the Brown wrestling team have earned All-Ivy League honors, the league announced on Wednesday. No. 19/No. 17 Andrew Reall (197) was a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection, while No. 27/No. 22 Alex Semenenko (285) was named Second Team All-Ivy.Â
"We are proud of Drew and Alex for the strong seasons they have put together," Marvin Wilenzik '56 Head Coaching Chair for Brown Wrestling Jordan Leen said. "This is something they will look back on and be proud of as well. But for now they couldn't care less. Their eyes are looking towards the Ivy and NCAA Championships. The postseason is really what matters most to them."Â
Reall becomes the first Bears' wrestler to earn a First Team All-Ivy selection since Jon Viruet (165) and Ian Butterbrodt (285) in 2019 and the first unanimous First Team selection since Viruet in 2019. With an overall record of 32-4 and a 13-1 record in dual competition, Reall has earned the top seed in his weight class at the 2026 Ivy League Wrestling Tournament in New York on March 8. In addition, his 32 wins mark the first time a Brown wrestler has crossed the 30 win threshold since Justin Staudenmayer (32-12) in 2014-15.
With his Second Team All-Ivy selection, Semenenko becomes the second Bears' wrestler to earn that distinction this decade, with his former teammate Hunter Adrian (133) being awarded second team honors last season. Semenenko, who currently sits at 24-6 overall and 12-2 in dual competition, heads to the Ivy League Tournament as the second seed in the heavyweight bracket. Semenenko is also tied with Nick O'Neill (North Carolina) for fifth in NCAA DI with nine pinffals (ten overall) and trails only Columbia's Vincent Mueller (eleven falls) for most pinfalls in DI for a heavyweight.Â
The Bears will next hit the mat this Sunday, March 8 for the Ivy League Championships, which will be aired on ESPN+ and ESPNews.Â
