
Women's Tennis Sweeps Seton Hall, 7-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The 49th-ranked Brown women's tennis team (7-3) swept Seton Hall (3-6) on Friday evening, 7-0, extending their home winning streak to five matches.
"Solid performance for our team tonight against Seton Hall," Broadbent Family Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser said.
Dani Ben-Abraham and Hannah Shen began the match with a 6-4 win over Niamh Campbell and Anastasia Sereda at the first line. Abigail Lee and Chloe Qin followed with a 6-4 victory at the second line against Kira Farrakhova and Isabelle May, earning the Bears the doubles point. Anne Yang and Ali Maguy secured a 6-3 third line win over Rachel Benoualid and Jaden Davidson.
"In doubles, we overcame some early errors, bounced back with better execution, and closed out all doubles matches with clarity," Schmidhauser continued.
The Bears charged through all singles matches. At the first line, Ali Maguy toppled Kira Farrakhova 6-1, 6-3, setting the tone with consistent, aggressive play. Dani Ben-Abraham blazed through her match at the second line 6-0, 6-1 against Niamh Campbell. Anne Yang overwhelmed Jaden Davidson 6-1, 6-1 at the third line, keeping the Bears in control. Sari Woo dominated with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at the fourth line over Isabelle May. Bella Hu, at the fifth line, dropped the first set 1-6 to Rachel Benoualid, then rallied fiercely to win the match 6-2, 6-3. Chloe Qin, at the sixth line, outlasted Ellie Coe 6-2, 1-6, 10-7, sealing the victory in a tense match tiebreak.
"In singles, Sari, Annie, and Dani set the tone and executed their game plan flawlessly, overwhelming their opponents. Ali closed out her match at line one with some clutch play at the end of the second set," Schmidhauser concluded.
