Men’s Tennis Falls To Dartmouth To Close Out ECAC Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. - The No. 8 Brown men's tennis team (6-4) closed out the ECAC Championships on Sunday with a 4-3 loss to No. 7 Dartmouth (7-3).

In doubles action, Ivan Sodan and Zander Bravo fell 6-3 to Miles Groom and Henry Ren, while Lukas Phimvongsa and Noah Hernandez were edged out in a tight tiebreaker by Denny Bao and Kornel Halmos, 7–6(6). The Bears earned one doubles win with Theo Murphy and Elliot Wasserman posting a strong 6-2 victory over Calvin Wang and Adrian Treacy.

In singles play, Sodan defeated Ren 6-1, 6-2, while Phimvongsa battled back for a three‑set win over Halmos, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, and Hernandez added another point with a 6-2, 7-5 victory against Treacy. Yang was topped by Groom, 6-1, 6-3, and Wasserman was defeated by Leo Pade, 6-3, 7-5, and Bravo fell to Bao, 6-3, 6-2.

The Bears will be back on the road for their matchup against Richmond on Saturday, Feb. 21.
