
Men’s Tennis Falls 4-0 to Columbia to Open ECAC Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. - The No. 8 Brown men's tennis team (6-2) opened the ECAC Championships with a 4-0 loss to No. 1 Columbia (4-3) on Friday.
In doubles play, Ivan Sodan and Zander Bravo battled but fell 7-5 to Columbia's Nicholas Kotzen and Andrew Ena. Noah Hernandez and Lukas Phimvongsa fell to Sachin Palta and Michael Zheng, while the duo of Theo Murphy and Elliot Wasserman also dropped their match to Thanaphat Boosarawongse and Aditya Govila, 6–1.
On the singles side, the Bears continued to fight, but Sodan was topped by Zheng, 6-2, 6-2, and Hernandez also fell to Palta, 6-0, 6-2. Bravo also dropped to Aditya Govila, 6-3, 6-0.
The Bears will continue with day two of action on Saturday, Feb. 14, against either No. 4 Cornell or No. 5 Yale.
