Men’s Basketball Comes Up Short at Princeton

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Brown men's basketball team (7-11, 1-4) fell 63-53 at Princeton (7-13, 3-2) inside Jadwin Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Landon Lewis scored a team-high 13 points on 6-11 shooting from the floor. The Los Angeles, Calif. native also had a team-high nine rebounds, two steals, and three blocks. Isaiah Langham recorded his third-straight double-digit scoring effort with 11 points, the reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Week shot 5-11 from the floor.
Brown outscored Princeton 30-14 inside the paint and 17-9 on second chance points.
The first half featured five lead changes and seven instances when the game was tied. Brown's largest lead of the opening 20 minutes was three and Princeton's was three as the game entered the second half knotted at 27. The Bears scored 18 of their 27 first half points in the paint, Langham and Adrian Uchidiuno had eight points each.
Brown held Princeton scoreless through the first 4:56 of the second half after the Tigers failed to score on their first nine shot attempts. The Bears led by as much as five twice in the second half, most notably with 12:15 remaining in the half by a score of 37-32. Once Brown took a five-point lead, the Tigers outscored the Bears 9-4 to tie the game at 41.
With the game tied at 41, the Tigers outscored the Bears 8-0 to take a 49-41 lead, the eight-point advantage for Princeton was the largest up to that point. Brown would get as close as five with a Langham three-pointer with 5:33 remaining.
Brown outscored Princeton 12-6 in the paint and 12-5 on second chance points in the second half.
Brown will welcome Harvard on Friday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. before hosting Dartmouth on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets here.
