PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Messing Family Head Coach for Brown Varsity Women's Soccer Kia McNeill announced the promotion of Andre Reis to Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator on Friday. Reis joined the women's soccer coaching staff in 2018 as a volunteer coach and was promoted to assistant coach in 2023.
"I am thrilled to promote Andre Reis to Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator," McNeill said. "Andre has been with our program since 2018, beginning as a volunteer coach and steadily working his way up and taking on increased responsibility and involvement each year. It is important to me to recognize and reward those who have demonstrated loyalty, commitment, passion, and a shared vision for success, and Andre embodies all of those qualities. His passion for the game and his dedication to the growth and development of our players and program are evident every day. This promotion reflects the value he brings to our program, and I am excited to continue building championship teams together."
Since Reis' arrival, Brown's goalkeepers have consistently been featured atop the Ivy League in several statistical categories. Reis was instrumental in the development of standout keepers like Kayla Thompson '22 and Clare Gagne '24, who both went on to sign professional contracts.
During Brown's historic 2019 season, which saw the team earn its first Ivy League title and NCAA appearance in 25 years, the defense set program records for wins (14) and shutouts (13).
"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to step into the associate head coach role at Brown," Reis said. "I want to sincerely thank Kia for her belief in me and for consistently giving me the space and freedom to grow as a coach. I strongly believe in this program's vision and the culture she has built. I'm excited to help lead our team as we continue to raise the standard and compete for championships, and I look forward to continuing to help our program and our student-athletes grow both on and off the field."
Reis has served as the ECNL Goalkeeping Director for Scorpions SC, one of the premier youth clubs in the Northeast. ECNL is one of the top developmental leagues for girls' soccer in the country.
