
Wrestling Prepares for No. 22 Cornell and Binghamton

ITHACA, N.Y. - Brown wrestling (3-3) heads to New York for two matches on Saturday, Jan. 24, taking on No. 22 Cornell (3-4) at noon and Binghamton (5-2) at 5:30 p.m.
Brown will enter competition with a 3-3 record in dual meets this season after the 40-10 win over Presbyterian last weekend.Â
No. 19 Andrew Reall (197) has put together an impressive 24-4 overall record and 5-1 record in dual meets. Reall is the first wrestler to earn a top 20 national ranking since Justin Staudenmayer and Christian Lafragola ranked 15th and 16th, respectively, in 2017. He was named Ivy League Wrestler of the Week on Tuesday.Â
Alex Semenenko (285) continues to chase history with a team-leading nine pinfalls on the season, putting him five behind the single-season record of fourteen (Tivon Abel in 1994-95 and Ophir Bernstein 2013-14). Semenenko enters the weekend with a 17-5 overall record and sits in a three-way tie for best dual meet record at 5-1.
Austin McBurney (149) is also 5-1 in duals, and has a 16-7 overall record. McBurney comes off a 2-1 showing at the Davidson Duals (Jan. 16), with his best win coming against Joseph Morris (Presbyterian) via tech fall 19-1 (7:00).Â
Ethan Mojena (157), Max Norman (165), and Drew Clearie (174) have all gone 3-3 in dual competition this year, with Norman and Mojena each sitting at least five wins above .500 for their overall records. Chase Yasutake (125) is a week removed from winning his first match of his collegiate career, defeating Ethan York (Presbyterian) via pinfall 6:26 at the Davidson Duals (Jan. 16).
Both dual meets will be streamed on ESPN+: Cornell / Binghamton.
