
Women's Water Polo Earns First Win Of The Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's water polo team opened its season with a 12-8 win over Iona on Sunday (Jan. 18). The win marks the first win at Brown for head coach Jackie Puccino.
Alexandra Love started the Bears off strong with the first goal of the game, as well as adding two more goals, tying the most goals of the match with Samantha Kim (3). Aubrie Anderson added two more goals for the Bears, helping them secure the win. Anderson and Cleo Washer each had three assists.
In goal, Somto Okafo saved eight shots from the Gaels in the first half, with Sarah Decker adding another save in the first half.
UP NEXT
The Bears will host the Bruno Classic starting Saturday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m. against LIU. They will then play Siena at 9:30 a.m. and Villanova at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24. They end the weekend with one last game against Indiana at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.
