Women's Tennis Dominates on the Final Day of the Dartmouth Fall Foliage Festival

HANOVER, N.H. - The Brown women's tennis team dominated the final day of the Dartmouth Fall Foliage Festival, winning eight matches against UMass and Boston College.

The first doubles victory of the day came from Francesca Saroli and Chloe Qin, who faced UMass's Fiona Ao and Owethu Makhanya. Following that, the Bears collected back-to-back wins in the second set of doubles matches against Boston College. Dani Ben-Abraham and Abigail Lee secured a 6-4 victory, while Anne Moody and Ali Maguy followed with another 6-4 win.

The Bears opened their first set of singles matches against UMass, with Dani Ben-Abraham prevailing in a tiebreaker showdown. Anne Yang and Bella Hu followed, each securing victories against the Minutemen. Later, the team swept Boston College. Abigail Lee's match was retired after her 2-0 lead, and Hannah Shen, Francesca Saroli, and Ali Maguy claimed wins in their respective matches.

"Very good competitive effort by our team today, best of the fall season so far," said Broadbent Family Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser. "We came out with excellent intensity in doubles and carried that momentum into our singles play."

The Bears will rest this week but return to the courts on Oct. 9th for the first day of ITA Regionals in Cambridge, Mass.
