9/27/2025 11:19:00 AM | Men's Crew
SHANGHAI, CHINA - Gus Rodriguez '22 added to his stellar international portfolio over the weekend by helping Team USA capture the bronze medal in the Men's Eight race at the 2025 World Rowing Championships. This marks the first time that a member of the Brown men's crew program has secured a medal at the World Championships since 2013, when Peter Gibson '13 helped the lightweight eight for Team USA take home the bronze in Chungju, South Korea.Â
The U.S. crossed the finish line in 05:30.09, with Great Britain finishing in second place at 05:29.93 and the Netherlands taking gold with a time of 05:27.67. Rodriguez also rowed with the Men's Four, who finished in fifth place in the B Final with a time of 06:50.64. Rodriguez became the first member of Brown men's crew to race with multiple boats at the World Championship since Nikola Stojic '97 did so in 2007, racing with the Men's Pair and Four without coxswain for Serbia.Â
