PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Fresh off a season opening shutout of Georgetown last weekend, the Brown football team is set for a showdown at Harvard on Saturday night, September 27. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+ and the Learfield Varsity Network.

Brown Bears Football Report: Episode 2
OPENING KICKOFF
- Brown and Harvard are both coming off blowout victories in last Saturday's season openers where Harvard took down Stetson 59-7 and Brown blanked Georgetown 46-0.
- Both teams are receiving votes in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches Poll, while Harvard is also receiving votes in the Stats Perform Poll.
- The last three matchups between the two teams have come down to the wire, with all having been decided by seven points or less, including three points in each of the last two seasons.
- Brown allowed just 183 yards of total offense last week vs. Georgetown, its fewest allowed since 2012.
SCOUTING HARVARD
- The Crimson started their season last Saturday with a dominant 59-7 win at Stetson.
- Harvard is receiving votes in both the Stats Perform and the AFCA FCS Coaches Polls this week.
- Quarterback Jaden Craig was 10-for-13 passing for 208 yard and two touchdowns.
- Much like Brown, four different tailbacks scored touchdowns for Harvard, including two from Isaiah Bullock on seven carries.
- The Harvard defense forced two fumbles and grabbed one interception, while adding a pair of sacks and 7.0 tackles for loss.
- As part of the game's festivities, Havard Stadum's field will be dedicated to longtime head coach Tim Murphy, who retired after the 2023 season as the winningest coach in Ivy League history.
- Brown's first game in the 100th season of Richard Gouse Field at Brown Stadium brought with it several milestones.
- The 46-point margin of victory is the largest ever for a home opener in the history of Brown Stadium.
- The 46 points are the most points scored in a home opener since 1950.
- It was Brown's first shutout and the first 40+ point win since the 2013 season.
- It is the most points scored by the Bears in a season opener since hanging 52 on Yale in 1997.
MULROONEY'S MAGIC
- New defensive coordinator Dan Mulrooney's system turned heads in his first game against Georgetown.
- The Bears set a new program record with 9.0 sacks in the game.
- The 183 yards of total offense is the fewest allowed by the team since they allowed just 166 against Georgetown on September 29, 2012.
- The Bears posted 13.0 TFLs as a team.
- Brown forced four turnovers, including two interceptions.
RECEIVING VOTES
- Brown received votes (two points) in this week's AFCA FCS Coaches Poll.
- Three other Ivies (Dartmouth, Harvard, Yale) also received votes.
- Brown last received votes in 2024 following its 2-0 start.
DUNN DEAL
- Junior Tommy Dunn was a massive force for the Bears' defense against Georgetown, recoding 3.0 tackles, 3.0 sacks for a total of 29 yards, three QB hurries and a forced fumble.
- His second sack came on fourth down in the red zone, and his final sack resulted in a fumble that the Bears recovered.
- He also made the honor roll for the Stats Perform National Defensive Player of the Week.
STRONG DEBUT
- Junior Ike Odimegwu made his collegiate debut by finishing with 4.0 tackles, including 3.0 sacks.
OFFENSIVE ATTACK
- The Brown offense picked up right where it left off by putting up 46 points and 387 yards of total offense against Georgetown.
- The Bears have ranked in the top three in the Ivy League in passing yards per game in each of the last five seasons (the James Perry era), including three times at No. 1.
- Brown has also ranked in the top two in the league in total offense in four of the last five seasons.
NOSE FOR THE END ZONE
- Senior Qwentin Brown has scored a rushing touchdown in seven consecutive games.
- He tied for the Ivy League lead with nine rushing touchdowns in 2024.
- Qwentin ranked third in the league with 6.8 ppg and 54 points last season.
