6/13/2025 11:10:00 AM | Field Hockey
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown field hockey is charging into the 2025 season with confidence and momentum after a landmark 2024 campaign that culminated in the program's first-ever Ivy League Tournament appearance. The fall campaign features 16 games split between eight games at Goldberger Family Field and eight games on the road.
The 2024 season set the tone for Brown's resurgence. Facing six NCAA Tournament teams and multiple nationally ranked opponents, the Bears boasted the No. 1 strength of schedule in the country at different points. Brown surpassed the 40-point plateau for the first time since 2000. Head coach Britt Broady enters her fourth season at the helm of Brown Field Hockey.
"I am extremely excited to continue building this program's momentum with another challenging schedule in 2025," Broady said. "We open the season with two fantastic non-conference opponents that allow our team to make an immediate statement.
"Our student-athletes are hungrier than ever following a historic season in 2024 with the program's first-ever trip to the Ivy League Tournament. Fans can expect fast-paced action, fearless play, and a program on the rise."
Brown opens the season with a road trip to take on national semifinalist UMass and NCAA Tournament qualifier UConn on September 5 and September 7, respectively. The Bears welcome Fairfield (Sept. 14), another NCAA Tournament qualifier, Yale (Sept. 20), and Stonehill (Sept. 21) to College Hill.
The Ivy League slate continues with a road game at Columbia (Sept. 26) before another three-game set at Goldberger against UMass Lowell (Sept. 28), Cornell (Oct. 3), and Maine (Oct. 5).
The Bears hit the road to take on Penn (Oct. 10), Boston University (Oct. 13), and Harvard (Oct. 17) before the final two home games of the regular season against Bryant (Oct. 19) and Princeton (Oct. 24). The Bears close the regular season with a trip to Hanover, New Hampshire to take on Dartmouth (Nov. 1).
The 2025 Ivy League Tournament, hosted by the regular season champion, will begin on Friday, November 7.
Brown returns over 80% of its goal-scoring and more than 75% of its point production from a season ago, including USA Women's National Team member and All-American Lucy Adams – Brown's first All-American since 1999. USA Under-21 team members Mia Karine Myklebust and Lexi Pellegrino also return to lead the Bruno offense.
Defensively, junior Kylee Del Monte returns after playing every minute in 2024 and recorded a pair of shutouts.
