
Brown University Announces Departure of Head Fencing Coach

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -Â Brown University's Division of Athletics and Recreation announced today that Alex Ripa will no longer serve as head coach of the men's and women's fencing programs, effective immediately.Â
"We thank Alex for his contributions during his time at Brown," M. Grace Calhoun '92, Ph.D., Samuel M. Mencoff '78 Vice President for Athletics and Recreation said. "After careful consideration, we have decided to move in a new direction with the leadership of our fencing program. We remain committed to the success of our teams and the holistic development of our student-athletes."
A national search will begin for the next head coach.
