NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Bears track and field programs are set to compete at the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships hosted by Yale on Saturday and Sunday, May 10-11. Brown is seeking their first Ivy Outdoor Heps title since 2001, when the women’s side won the conference for a fourth consecutive year. The men are seeking their first title in program history.

JUMPS
The jumpers have had a great season, as senior Delaney Seligmann broke the school record in the long jump at the Georgia Tech Invitational. Her mark of 6.31 meters has her tied for second in the Ivy League this season alongside Marta Amani of Harvard. Senior Jada Joseph will also compete in the long jump, as she was eighth best in the conference with a mark of 6.03 meters.
Joseph excels in the triple jump, finishing fifth at last year’s championship. The winning mark last year was 13.04 meters, and Joseph reached a personal best 13.01 meters this season at the Raleigh Relays. She’ll likely have to beat out Princeton’s Georgina Scoot, who had the best mark in the Ivy League this season of 13.35 meters.
In the men’s long jump, junior Frank Monahan-Morang was fifth best in the Ivy League this season, setting a mark of 7.32 meters. He finished sixth at last year’s championship and could compete for another top finish this time around.
The men’s triple jump will feature 2025 Ivy Indoor Heps champion Joseph Oduro. The junior was best in the Ivy League this season, setting the sixth best mark in school history with a 15.40 meter leap at the Bob Davidson Team Challenge in March.
In the women’s high jump, junior Nene Mokonchu had a strong season for the Bears. She finished fifth in the event at last year’s Heps with a mark of 1.72 meters. Mokonchu will have a strong chance at a podium result again this year.
THROWS
Senior Chidinma Agbasi will compete for an Ivy League title in the hammer throw. She set the third best mark in the Ivy League this season of 58.36 meters, which was also the third best in school history. Agbasi will have the best chance, but the Bears boast several strong competitors in the hammer throw. Senior Sophia Gallucci finished fourth in the event last year. Senior Nicolette Ducharme and first-year Giana DeCesare also have the potential to crack the podium.
Sophomores Ethan Wordell and Keith Daigneau have climbed the ranks in the men’s hammer throw this season. Wordell set the eighth best mark in school history (60.74m) this season, while Daigneau set the ninth best mark in school history (60.25m). They’ll both have their sights set on a podium finish.
Three Bears will compete in the women’s discus throw, including sophomore Michelyn Appiah who recently set the 10th best mark in school history (45.44m) at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational. She finished seventh at last year’s Ivy League Heps and will aim for improvement this week.
Sophomore Julia’Belle Reyfman set the eighth best javelin mark (41.67m) at the Georgia Tech Invitational. She finished sixth in the javelin throw at Ivy Heps last year but could crack the top five this time.
DISTANCE/MIDDLE DISTANCE
First-year Morgan Boonshaft (4th/16:26.24) and senior Idolde McManus (7th/16:36.43) both set top 10 marks in school history this season. Boonshaft finished 12th in the Ivy League this season and will likely need to set a personal record for a podium finish.
Junior Julia Schriefer set the ninth fastest 1500 meter time in school history (4:26.61) at the Raleigh Relays. That time would’ve placed her eighth at last year’s Ivy League Heps.
For the men’s side, sophomore Aaron Caveney set the eighth fastest 800 meter time in school history (1:50.14) at the Raleigh Relays. That personal record landed him 13th in the Ivy League this season, less than 3 seconds off Cornell’s Damian Hackett in first. Caveney finished 11th at Ivy Indoor Heps and will try to improve on that.
SPRINTERS/HURDLERS
First-year Trevor Wilder tied junior Jason Estrada for fifth in school history in the 400 meter dash with a time of 47.36. That time would’ve earned them a fifth place finish at last year’s Ivy Heps, as both will have a strong opportunity this year to score points.
In the women’s 100 meter hurdles, sophomore Elle Riley broke the school record this season with a time of 13.80. Last year’s winner ran a blazing 13.59 in the final, but Riley can certainly still contend.
In the women’s 400 meter hurdles, sophomore Maddelynn Brooks and first-year Kareema McKenzie tied for the third best time in school history with 1:00.17. Elle Riley set the ninth best time in school history with 1:01.38 this season as well. All three could earn points for the Bears in what should be a tight race.
Sophomore Alyssa Jackson is yet to find her top form this season, but she’ll have a chance to contend in both the 100 meter and 200 meter sprints this weekend. She finds herself 22nd in the Ivy League this season in both events, but could easily crack top 10 in either with strong performances.
