Men's 4x100 Relay Team Breaks School Record as Track and Field Competes at Jay Carisella Invitational

DEDHAM, Mass. – The Brown track and field programs competed at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational hosted by Northeastern University on Saturday.
MEN
With a time of 40.61 seconds, the men's 4x100 meter relay team broke the Brown outdoor record, finishing first in the event. The team consisted of Frank Monahan-Morang, Jason Estrada, Elias Archie and Trevor Wilder. Keith Daigneau set the ninth best mark in school history in the hammer throw with a mark of 60.25 meters.
In the 100 meter dash, Archie was fourth with a time of 10.72. Matias Gersberg finished 12th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.76, while John Ryan was 12th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:53.20. Colin Fisher was fastest for the Bears in the 1500 meter run, finishing sixth with a time of 3:55.74.
In the pole vault, Link Lignell was sixth with a mark of 4.21 meters. Monahan-Morang finished second in the long jump with a mark of 7.20 meters. Karon Johnson was eighth in the shot put with a mark of 15.17 meters.
WOMEN
Michelyn Appiah was fourth in the discus throw with a mark of 45.44 meters, good for 10th best in school history.
Mackenzie Fulgham finished eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 59.58. Olivia Takla was 11th in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:22.84. Sarah Paul was the fastest Bear in the 1500 meter race, finishing 22nd with a time of 4:49.60. Sanam Rangaraj was fourth in the 5000 meter race with a time of 19:05.25.
Nene Mokonchu was second in the high jump with a mark of 1.65 meters, while Rosie Volpintesta was third with a mark of 1.60 meters. Simone Dunbar was fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.72 meters. Delaney Seligmann finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.95 meters.
Michelyn Appiah finished third in the shot put with a mark of 13.71 meters. In the hammer throw, Sophia Gallucci was second with a mark of 52.19 meters.
UP NEXT
The Bears will prepare for Ivy League Heps which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 10-11 in New Haven, Connecticut.
