
Archie Ties School Record, Jackson Breaks School Record on Day One of Ivy Heps

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Brown track and field wrapped up day one of the Ivy League Indoor Heps at the Armory in New York City on Saturday. The Bears had multiple top-10 program finishes, and two school records tied and broken by senior Elias Archie and junior Alyssa Jackson.

WOMEN
Jackson, who has been having a strong indoor season, broke the school's 200m record that she originally set earlier this season. Her fifth place finish at 23.90 seconds broke her previous school record by .11 seconds and qualified her for tomorrow's final. Freshman Anya Anderson ran alongside Jackson and placed 10th overall with a time of 24.42, which beat her previous PR by .06 seconds and stands as the fifth best in program history.

Jackson and Anderson also ran alongside each other in the 60m prelims. Jackson finished seventh with a time of 7.49 and qualified for tomorrow's final, as Anderson placed 14th with a time of 7.68, which placed her in a three way tie for the 10th best time in program history. Senior Simone Dunbar qualified for the 60m hurdles finals by placing sixth overall with a time of 8.52, beating her previous record by .03 seconds and tying her for the No. 4 spot in program history.

Freshman Sydney Ruckett placed sixth overall in the 400m prelims with a time of 55.58, qualifying her for tomorrow's final. Freshman Mia Reaugh placed ninth overall in the 500m prelims and put herself eighth overall in program history at a time of 1:14.52.

Seniors Nimrit Ahuja and Julia Schriefer both qualified for tomorrow's mile final. Ahuja finished eighth with a time of 4:47.88 and Schriefer placed ninth with a time of 4:46.82, beating her previous record by .81 seconds which stands as the fifth fastest time in program history. Senior Emily Mrakovcic placed 11th in the mile with a time of 4:48.97, which is the sixth fastest in program history.

Ahuja also ran in the 3000m and finished eighth overall with a time of 9:25.97. Junior Olivia Fraga placed 11th overall and ran the fifth fastest 3000m in program history at a time of 9:30.56.

Junior Rosie Volpintesta finished sixth overall in the pentathlon with 3,682 points, which beats her previous PR by seven points and placing herself sixth on the school's top-10 list. Senior Zoe Carter-Konate placed fifth overall in the weight throw with a 17.95m throw, ranking her sixth on the school's top-10.

Archie tied the school record in the 60m dash during Saturday's prelims. Finishing in 6.79 seconds, the mark beat his previous PR by .02 seconds, and qualifies him for tomorrow's final. Sophomore Trevor Wilder competed in both the 200m and 400m prelims, qualifying for the 200m final with a time of 21.65 (seventh overall) and placed ninth overall in the 400m with a time of 47.94, beating his previous best by .23 seconds and putting himself at No. 4 on the school's top-10 list.

Junior Jake Haley placed sixth overall in the 800m with a time of 1:51.75, qualifying him for tomorrow's final. Sophomore Colin Fisher placed 10th overall in the 3000m finals with a time of 8:11.75.

Junior Ethan Wordell finished seventh overall in the weight throw with a 17.63m throw. Senior Frank Monahan-Morang finished eighth in the long jump (6.93m).

Through the first three events of the heptathlon, sophomore Link Lignell currently stands in fifth place and junior Gabriel Liem Thai currently stands in sixth place. The remaining three events will be contested on Sunday.

The second and final day of the championships will get underway on Sunday at 11 a.m.
