Five Track and Field Athletes Qualify for NCAA East Regionals

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown track and field programs will feature five athletes at the NCAA East Regional Qualifiers. The University of North Florida will host the meet in Jacksonville, Florida from Wednesday, May 28 to Saturday, May 31.
The top 48 athletes for each event will compete for a chance at reaching NCAA Nationals in Eugene, Oregon. The top 12 from the east will advance.
WOMEN
Jada Joseph returns to the NCAA first round for a second consecutive season. Joseph placed 11th in the triple jump at last year's meet, qualifying for nationals where she finished 22nd. This year, she set personal records in the triple jump (13.15m) and long jump (6.29m) which propelled her into qualifying for both. Those marks at Ivy League Heps tied the second best marks in school history. She was ninth best in the country this year in the triple jump and 20th best in the long jump.
Delaney Seligmann also qualified from the jumps team after she set the school record in the long jump with a mark of 6.31 meters. That mark was 17th best in the country this season, as it will be Seligmann's first chance to reach the National Championships.
Chidinma Agbasi qualified in the hammer throw event, as her throw of 58.38 meters at Ivy League Heps propelled her into qualification. It was the 42nd best mark in the country this season and Agbasi has her sights set on reaching Nationals for the first time. She currently sits in the third place in school history.
MEN
Joseph Oduro qualified in the triple jump event, winning the Indoor and Outdoor Ivy League title this season. His best outdoor mark of the year was 15.40 meters at the Webb Davidson Meet. It was the 41st best mark in the country, as Oduro will have his first opportunity to reach NCAA Nationals.
Frank Monahan-Morang qualified for the long jump event with a mark of 7.67 meters at the Princeton Elite Invitational. It tied the third best mark in school history and is 28th best in the country this year. Monahan-Morang will seek national qualification for the first time in his career.
The Bears will hope to have at least one athlete reach the National Championships for the fourth consecutive season.
