PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A pair of Brown baseball players have earned All-Ivy honors, the league announced on Thursday. Junior outfielder Mika Petersen was named to the All-Ivy First Team, while junior shortstop DJ Dillehay earned Second Team accolades. In addition, senior second baseman Gunner Boree was named to the Academic All-Ivy squad.
Petersen and Dillehay were two of the three Brown players to appear in and start all 39 games this season.
This marks the second First Team All-Ivy accolade of Petersen's career, previously earning the honor as a freshman in 2023. Hitting mostly out of the No. 3 spot in the batting order, Petersen led the Ivy League with an overall batting average of .355 this season, finishing tied for third in the league with 54 hits. He led the team with a .401 on-base percentage and had a team-leading nine doubles. He also chipped in two homers, 20 RBIs, 21 runs scored, nine stolen bases and 12 walks. He tallied a season-high 13-game hitting and on-base streak from February 23 to March 23 and closed the season by getting a hit in each of the final seven games. He finished the year with 16 multi-hit games, including six games with three hits. On April 20 at Princeton, he helped power the Bears to a win at Princeton by reaching base four times with three hits, three runs scored and three RBIs, including the game-winning double in extra innings.
A three-year starter for the Bears, Dillehay earns All-Ivy for the first time in his career after a solid year at the plate, and up the middle as the team's shortstop. He tied for third in the Ivy League with 101 assists defensively, led Brown with 30 RBIs and tied for the team lead with 23 runs scored while posting a .272/.335/.437 slash line. He had a season-high six-game hitting streak from March 8-22. He had a big day at the plate in a doubleheader at Columbia on March 22, going 6-for-10 with a pair of home runs, three runs scored and three RBIs in the two games. He had a big two-run homer at Cornell on March 29, and tallied three hits and four RBIs, including a 10th inning RBI single to lift Brown past Princeton on April 20. He also went 3-for-6 with two homers, three RBIs and three runs scored in an extra innings win over Penn on May 3.
