No. 7 Women's Crew Excels Against Penn

PRINCETON, N.J. - Returning to Lake Carnegie for an Ivy League matchup against the 12th ranked Penn Quakers, the seventh ranked Brown women's crew put forth an impressive display from start to finish.Â
The Bears won every race on the day, showing the depth and talent that their team possesses. "Brown had a solid day of racing against a formidable squad," said Loyalty Chair for Women's Crew Head Coach Tessa Gobbo-Zimmerman '13. "The coaching staff is proud of how the team chose to compete today."
The A4, stroked by Isla Wilding and coxed by Brooke Halvorsen, started the afternoon with a final time of 7:22.1 and defeated Penn by over 15 seconds, the largest margin of victory on the day.
The B4, stroked by Alessandra Tuttle and coxed by Katherine Mitchell, posted a final time of 7:32.8 in their race. The C4 also competed today and put forth an excellent effort, finishing with a time of 7:38.9.
The V8, stroked by Nadia Vondeling and coxed by Summer Balla-Kellett, finished with the best time for either team when they posted a final of 6:24.4 in their race. The 2V8, stroked by Calissa Snyder Cox and coxed by Caitlyn Roddy, finished with a time of 6:31.8. The 3V8 finished with a time of 6:53.6 and defeated the Quakers by 14.2 seconds, the second largest margin of victory on the afternoon.
After the clean sweep, the Bears travel back to Providence to prepare for a trip down to Sarasota, Florida from Apr. 18-19 to compete in the Big Ten Invitational.Â
