LAS VEGAS - Over the weekend, Alex Semenenko (285) competed at the 2025 CLAW U.S. Open in the Senior Division and put together a strong performance.
Semenenko, who finished the 2024-25 season in the top five in NCAA DI for pinfall victories, recorded four victories overall at the tournament. Pinning William Christman in 0:29 and Devon Dawson in 1:27, Semenenko showcased his blend of technical prowess and power. He also scored wins against Tyler Doyle (DEC 7-0) and Trevor Tinker (FORFEIT), before dropping the seventh place match against Lucas Stoddard (TF 11-0).
With an 8th place finish at the event, Semenenko is now officially recognized as a USA Wrestling All-American. There are big expectations for the heavyweight who, as a rising senior, will look to build upon this past season and continue to excel on the national stage in 2025-26.
