Women's Water Polo Closes Season With Win Over Saint Francis

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo finished its season with a 12-7 win over Saint Francis in the CWPA Tournament on Sunday (April 27).
Both Claire Poissonnier and Sofia Holman led the Bears with three goals. Six other Bears finished the game with a goal.
Roxanne Hazuka tallied eight saves in goal for Brown.
Holman scored twice and Hanna Tidrenczel added a goal in the first quarter as Brown led 3-2 after one. Poissonnier scored a goal in the second as the game was tied 4-4 at the half.
The Bears jumped ahead 5-4 in the third with another goal from Poissonnier and had an answer for every Saint Francis goal with Gaby Montalvo and Samantha Kim each scoring as the Bears were up 7-6 after three quarters.
Poissonnier, Holman and Madeleine Poissonnier all scored to start the fourth as the Bears pulled away for good, scoring the first three goals of the quarter. Aubrie Anderson and Katharine Knowles each scored later in the fourth for the final tally.
Claire Poissonnier was named Second Team All-Tournament and Sofia Holman was named Honorable Mention All-Tournament.
