PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo took home three CWPA Weekly Awards, the association announced on Wednesday (April 2). Hanna Tidrenczel was named Co-Player of the Week, Roxanne Hazuka was named Defensive Player of the Week and Ava Schoening was named Rookie of the Week.
Tidrenczel was named Co-Player of the Week after helping the Bears earn a win over Princeton for the first time since 2010. Tidrenczel scored the final three goals in the game for the Bears as Brown overcame a three-goal fourth quarter deficit to knock off the Tigers.
Hazuka shined in goal for Brown to earn Defensive Player of the Week. In three games last week, Hazuka finished with 34 saves, including 12 in Brown's win over Princeton. Hazuka earned the honor for the second time in her career.
Schoening was tabbed Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. Over four games last week, Schoening scored 10 goals with three coming in Brown's win at Princeton. It is Schoening's third CWPA honor of the season after being named Player of the Week earlier this year.
