No. 7 Women's Crew Wraps Up Competition at Big Ten Invitational
4/19/2025 6:06:00 PM | Women's Crew
"The team raced well this morning," said Loyalty Chair for Women's Crew Head Coach Tessa Gobbo-Zimmerman '13. "They went for it and all boats learned from their experience in Florida. This year's Big Ten Invitational has had more competitive teams than ever before and it was valuable to learn how we stack up mid-season."
The V8, stroked by Nadia Vondeling and coxed by Summer Balla-Kellett, finished in third place after posting a final time of 6:29.397. Brown's top boat secured podium finishes in all three races this weekend, with two second place finishes in yesterday's action.
The 2V8 saw themselves in a close race this morning, coming in second place and missing the top spot by only 2.6 seconds. Stroked by Isla Wilding and coxed by Caitlyn Roddy, the 2V8 recorded the best time on the day for the Bears after crossing the finish line in 6:32.588.Â
The A4 also came in second place, trailing the third ranked Washington Huskies by six seconds after posting a final time of 7:14.801. Stroked by Nicole Urquiaga and coxed by Brooke Halvorsen, the A4 has competed in four races this season and finished in first or second place in all four.Â
The B4, stroked by Alessandra Tuttle and coxed by Katherine Mitchell, crossed the finish line in 7:27.065 and finished in fourth place in the first race of the morning.Â
The Bears head back to Providence to prepare for their Senior Day race against the Cornell Big Red on Apr. 26.
