No. 4 Women's Sailing Wins Southern New England Women's Team Race

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown No. 4 women's and No. 5 open sailing teams completed another weekend of sailing after competing in four different events.
The women's sailing team won the Southern New England Women's Team Race hosted by Connecticut College. The team finished with a 13-2 overall record in the six-team event, continuing their strong start to the season. The women's sailing team has earned podium finishes in all races that they have competed in so far this season. Katharine Doble, Francesca Edmands, Kaitlyn Hamilton, Laura Hamilton, Menasha Leport, Janelle Li, Katherine Majette, Katherine McNamara, Sidney Moyer, and Savannah Young carried the Bears to victory.
The open sailing team had a fifth placed finish out of 16 teams at the Graham Hall Team Race hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy. Blake Behrens, Leyton Borcherding, Guthrie Braun, Helen Horangic, Caroline Keeffe-Jones, Emily Mueller, Brianna Ross, and Camren Spriggs helped the Bears close out the competition with a 10-5 record.
The open sailing team also competed in the Southern New England Team Race hosted by Connecticut College. Brown finished in ninth place out of 10 teams in the competition. James Brock, Reese Corckran, Robert Diemar, Charles Gish, Corinne Harrison, Tyler Lamm, Olivia Miller, Marin Soderberg, and Mason Stang represented the Bears in the race.
The rest of the open sailing team competed in a Team Race Scrimmage hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy against Tufts, URI, and Coast Guard.

The open sailing team will prepare for the Boston University Team Race (Mar. 22) and Friis Trophy Team Race (Mar. 22-23) next weekend. The women's sailing team will head to Harvard to compete in the Duplin Team Race (Mar. 22-23).
