Sailing Earns Three Podium Finishes in Weekend Events

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown sailing teams earned three podium finishes as they completed their second weekend of spring sailing. The No. 5 open sailing team won the Camel Team Race hosted by Connecticut College. Brown's second boat in the competition followed close behind, earning third place. The No. 4 women's sailing team had a second place finish at the Jen Harris Women's Team Race hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy.
Brown's successful weekend began with a first place finish at the Camel Team Race hosted by Connecticut College on the Thames River. James Brock, Julian Dahiya, Corinne Harrison, Tyler Lamm, Janelle Li, and Katherine Majette led the Bears to victory. The team finished the race with a 7-1 record. Brown's second boat rounded out the race with a 6-2 record, earning them third place. Gabriela Collins, Robert Diemar, Charles Gish, Sasha Gordon, Talia Levine, and Marin Soderberg represented Bears Two.
The Bears continued their weekend with a second place finish at the Jen Harris Women's Team Race, one of the major races in women's sailing. Brown finished the competition with a 15-4 record, putting them in second place out of 12 teams. The Jen Harris Women's Team Race featured many top sailing teams in the country. Reese Corckran, Katharine Doble, Francesca Edmands, Kaitlyn Hamilton, Laura Hamilton, Menasha Leport, Katherine McNamara, Sidney Moyer, and Savannah Young competed in the race for Brown.

The open sailing team will compete in the Geiger Trophy (Mar. 15), Massachusetts Maritime Team Race Invitational (Mar. 15), Graham Hall Team Race (Mar. 15-16), and Southern New England Team Race (Mar. 15-16).
The women's sailing team will race in the Women's Southern New England Team Race hosted by Connecticut College (Mar. 15-16).
