Softball Picked Sixth in Ivy League Preseason Poll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball was picked to finish sixth in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, the league announced on Thursday (Feb. 6).
The Bears picked up 51 points in the poll, finishing just behind fifth-place Columbia, which earned 57 points.
Princeton finished on top of the poll with 122 points and 10 of the 16 first place votes. Harvard was second with 111 points and four first place votes, followed by Yale in third (92 points, two first place votes) and Dartmouth (84 points).
Cornell (35) and Penn (24) rounded out the bottom of the preseason poll.
Brown, under first-year head coach Mary Holt-Kelsch, will take to the field for the first time this season on the weekend of Feb. 21-23, when the Bears head to Winthrop for a five-game tournament.
