Anna Podurgiel Breaks Program Record in Day 2 of Ivy Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown women's swimming and diving saw a program record broken on Day Two of the Ivy League Swimming and Diving Championships as Anna Podurgiel broke the Brown record in the 200 IM. The Bears currently sit in fifth place overall.
In the first event of the night, Crystal Yuen placed sixth in the 500 freestyle, finishing in a personal best time of 4:46.50. Sumner Chmielewski (4:53.68) and Dana Li (4:57.27) finished 18 and 20th respectively.
Podurgiel broke the program record in the prelims of the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.42 and finished 14th in the final with a time of 2:01.55. Emilia Barck was the top finisher for Brown in the event, placing 12th (2:00.62). Ellie Brault finished right behind Podurgiel with a time of 2:02.39 and Amie Barrow finished 19th with a time of 2:02.16.
Lily Klinginsmith was Brown's top finisher in the 50 freestyle with a personal best time of 23.06, finishing in 10th place. Kelly Dolce and Audrey Chung tied for 13th with a time of 23.14 and Jenna Reznicek was 19th (23.14). Dolce, Chung and Reznicek all also posted personal best times.
In the first diving competition of the meet, Isabella George was Brown's top finisher, placing 15th in the 1-meter with 231.05 points.
The Bears closed out the night with the team of Dolce, Zehra Bilgin, Klinginsmith and Chung finishing fifth in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.94.
Day three of the Ivy League Championships will feature the 100 year butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke events as well as the 200 freestyle and the 400 IM. The 3-meter diving competition will also take place on Friday. Prelims begin at 11 a.m. with finals taking place at 6 p.m.
