PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Sophomore gymnast Emily Ford has been recognized by the GEC as the Specialist of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Ford helped lead Brown to a season-high score of 193.375 in Sunday's quad meet at Yale. Ford tied for second overall on beam with a new season-high score of 9.800, then followed that up by ending the meet with a new career-high of 9.825 on bars, leading the team in fifth place overall.
This is the first career weekly conference honor for Ford, and the third Specialist of the Week honor for Brown this year, following a pair of awards by Julia Bedell on January 15 and February 12.
Brown will compete in the Ivy Classic this Sunday in Ithaca, N.Y. in a battle for the Ivy title against Cornell, Penn and Yale.
