
Women’s Basketball Travels to George Washington for Saturday Matinee

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown women's basketball team will travel to Washington, D.C. to take on the George Washington Revolutionaries on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. inside of the Charles E. Smith Center.
The matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Scouting the Bears (6-3)
- The Bears are coming off of a 74-46 win over the Stonehill Skyhawks on Wednesday night. The win marked Brown's sixth of the season.
- Following two-straight losses at Belmont (61-83) and Holy Cross (64-65), the Bears earned five-straight wins.
- First-year forward Isabella Wesley set multiple career-highs at Stonehill. She grabbed a team-high eight rebounds, posted three steals, assisted on two baskets, and blocked one shot.
- Senior guard Grace Arnolie led the Bears in scoring with a season-high 27 points against the Skyhawks, extending her double-figure streak to six-straight contests. Arnolie also shot 10-18 from the field, and 5-7 from beyond the arc.
- Sophomore guard Monét Witherspoon also set new season-highs with five rebounds, an assist, and a steal.
- All 13 members of Brown's active roster took the court at Stonehill, with 12 of the 13 posting at least one point.
- For the fifth time this season, Brown held its opponent to less than 10 points in a quarter (at Stonehill).
- The Bears are currently leading the Ivy League in combined team rebounds with an average of 41.0 per game.
- Senior forward Alyssa Moreland holds strong in the NCAA women's basketball DI rankings in rebounds per game. She currently ranks 32nd in the nation.
Scouting the Revolutionaries (4-5)
- In its last time out, the Revolutionaries defeated Dayton 54-42 in its first A-10 contest of the season. The win marked GW's second-straight, following a 81-67 win over Charlotte.
- The Revs posted four-straight losses to Temple, Howard, Longwood, and Georgetown, spanning from Nov. 7-21. Its fifth loss came against Miami on Nov. 28 77-83 in overtime.
- Gabby Reynolds leads GW in scoring by quite a margin, averaging 14.2 points per game. She is also 15-for-30 from beyond the arc, shooting 50%.
- Reynolds was the only player to receive a conference preseason award from GW, and was named Preseason All-Conference Second Team.
- The Revolutionaries are shooting 73.3% from the free-throw line, better than its opponents at 72.0%.
- GW currently ranks second in the A10 in team three-point field goal percentage at 34.9%.
- George Washington's Head Coach Ganiyat Adeduntan enters her first season with the Revs after joining the staff in March, following a four-year stint at Colgate.
- GW was selected to finish 10th in the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Preseason Poll. The Revs received 75 votes.
History
- The Bears and Revs have only met once before, when George Washington walked away with a 98-22 win.
- George Washington hosted the contest back in 2008.
