Men’s Basketball Falls 80-70 at Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Brown men's basketball team (1-5) fell 80-70 at Stony Brook (4-1), 80-70 on Thursday evening inside Stony Brook Arena.
In a back and forth opening nine minutes, an Adrian Uchidiuno three-pointer put Brown up 20-18. Following the three-pointer, the Seawolves closed the first half on a 29-14 run as they took a 49-32 advantage into halftime.
Stony Brook outscored Brown 11-4 on points from turnovers as the Bears committed 10 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes. Uchidiuno led Brown offensively with 11 first half points on 4-7 shooting from the floor. As a team, the Bears shot 13-23 from the floor and 4-8 from beyond the arc.
The Bears opened the second half with six-straight points, quickly cutting the Seawolves' advantage to 49-38. As the two teams traded baskets throughout the second half, a Jeremiah Jenkins three-pointer cut Brown's deficit to 55-45 with 14:38 to go in regulation.
Brown cut the Stony Brook advantage to 10 points on two more occasions before eventually trimming the deficit to eight with 11 seconds remaining, but it wasn't enough as Stony Brook held on for the victory.
The Bears' defense in the second half forced seven turnovers as Isaiah Langham had two steals and Malcolm Wrisby-Jefferson had two.
Uchidiuno netted a team-high 14 points off the bench on 3-8 shooting from beyond the arc, Langham recorded his fourth-straight double-digit scoring performance with 11.
In his first game of the season, Landon Lewis netted 13 points on 6-15 shooting, the Los Angeles, Calif. Native also grabbed six rebounds. As a team, the Bears shot 46.7 percent from the floor and 8-19 from beyond the arc. Brown's bench outscored Stony Brook's bench 31-17.
The Bears will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 23 when they travel to Maine, tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
