Field Hockey Travels to Penn on Friday, Boston University on Monday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown field hockey team (6-3, 2-1) will travel to Penn (4-4, 1-2) on Friday, Oct. 10 before heading to Boston University (5-6, 2-1) on Monday, Oct. 13.
Recapping Last Weekend
Brown earned two wins last weekend at Goldberger Family Field. First, they took down previously unbeaten Cornell 3-1 (Oct. 3) before defeating Maine 1-0 (Oct. 5).
The Bears have won five-straight games for the first time since they opened the 2022 season 5-0, Brown is 5-1 at home this season.
Parker Earns Ivy League Honors
Freshman goalkeeper Ellie Parker was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, the Ivy League announced on Monday afternoon.
This past weekend, Parker and the Bears won two games to push their winning streak to five games. First, the Bears took down previously unbeaten Cornell, 3-1 (Oct. 3). Then, Brown earned a 1-0 win over Maine (Oct. 5)
Against Cornell, Parker made four saves before making four saves against Maine. The Andover, Mass. native has started all nine games for Brown this season, she has a 1.03 goals against average and a .786 save percentage. Parker's save percentage ranks 11th nationally and her goals against average ranks 10th nationally, both rank second in the Ivy League.
Parker has four shutouts this season and she is averaging 3.78 saves per contest.
Scouting Brown
The Bears will open the weekend seeking their sixth consecutive victory, Brown has only won six-straight games one time in program history (1992). The Bears have never won seven-straight games.
Brown will also be seeking its third-straight Ivy League win; the Bears haven't won three-straight Ivy League games since the 2006 season.
Lexi Pellegrino ranks 20th nationally with 2.11 points per game and 25th with 0.89 goals per game, both rank second in the Ivy League. Her eight total goals ranks first in the Ivy League and her 19 points ranks second in the Ivy League. Pellegrino has 33 career goals, the Westwood, Mass. native is five goals away from passing Meghan O'Donnell '15 for the most goals in program history.
Brown's 1.07 goals against average ranks 12th nationally. The Bears checked in at No.19 in the latest NCAA RPI, the best mark in program history.
Scouting Penn
The Quakers are 2-0 at home this season and 1-0 at home in Ivy League contests. Penn's lone Ivy League victory came in a 4-2 triumph over Dartmouth (Sept. 26).
Julia Ryan ranks seventh in the Ivy League with five goals, Ruby de Frees' 5.50 saves per game ranks second in the Ivy League.
Scouting Boston University
Prior to hosting the Bears, the Terriers will welcome Bucknell (Oct. 11). In its last contest, Boston University fell 7-0 to No. 4 Harvard (Oct. 6).
Caroline O'Brien leads the Terriers with 10 goals and 26 points, O'Brien and the Terriers are averaging 2.27 goals and 15.0 shots per game this season.
History
Brown is 9-35-3 all-time against Penn, the Bears defeated the Quakers 4-3 last season at Goldberger Family Field. Brown is 4-4-2 all-time against Boston University, the Terriers have won three-straight games against the Bears.
