
Sailing Wins Captain Hurst Bowl, Finishes Fourth in Women’s Atlantic Coast Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown sailing teams closed out another weekend of fall competition winning the Captain Hurst Bowl and finishing fourth in the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship (ACC).
The Bears earned a first place finish out of 14 teams in the Captain Hurst Bowl, hosted by Dartmouth. Freshman Phoebe Fogarty, sophomores James Brock and Tyler Lamm, and senior Brianna Ross sailed for Brown in the event. The Bears earned four first place finishes in the B division, along with one second place finish. In the A division, Brown earned six top-five finishes. The Bears held a 13-point advantage over second place Stanford.
The women's team competed in the Atlantic Coast Championship, after qualifying for the event in late September. Brown finished in fourth place in the 18-team event. The B division posted nine top five finishes, while the A Division had 10 finishes within the top 10. Stanford won the event, with Harvard and Dartmouth finishing in second and third respectively ahead of Brown.
Brown also competed in the Savin Hill Invitational hosted by Boston College, and the Dave Perry Trophy at Yale. The Bears had top 10 finishes in both events, earning seventh place in the Savin Hill Invitational and sixth through ninth place for the Dave Perry Trophy.
