PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior midfielder Joy Okonye and senior defender Naya Cardoza were both named to TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Top 100 List on Thursday. The pair are the only players from the Ivy League to be named to the list.
Okonye was ranked 64th on the list, improving from her 99th preseason ranking. Cardoza enters the list at 98th, despite not being ranked in the preseason.
Okonye has six goals and five assists thus far this season. She leads the Ivy League in assists and is tied for the lead in goals. She was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week and TopDrawerSoccer's National Team of the Week earlier this season.
Cardoza is tied for the Ivy League lead in goals with six. She's remained the leader of a defense that has allowed just 33 shots on goal in 12 games. She was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week twice and TopDrawerSoccer's National Team of the Week once this season.
The Bears will play Dartmouth later today at Stevenson-Pincince Field, with kickoff set for 4:30 p.m.
